At a certain period of time, the Great Mosque of Samarra was the largest in the world. The credit for designing this wonderful architectural masterpiece is the Chaldean architect Dalil bin Yaqoub. The Great Mosque of Samarra was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2007.
