Autauga Academy is a private coed PK-12 school in Prattville, Alabama, the seat of Autauga County.
In the fall of 1969, Autauga Academy opened its doors for the first time in the old Pine Level School building with 136 students, and remained in this facility for one school term. In the fall of 1970, Autauga Academy opened at the present site with a new facility boasting grades 1-12. The class of 1971 became the first class to graduate from Autauga Academy.
The school has witnessed many changes in its 50+ years, but one of the outstanding characteristics of Autauga Academy is that it functions very much like it did in 1969. It was and is very much a community school, even though the students come from a diverse area of residency. The community supporting Autauga Academy is the school family.
As an independent school, funding for the school is obtained through tuition and fundraisers. Without the support of the school family, Autauga Academy cannot succeed.
